Zur Behandlung von Patienten mit einem Typ 2 Diabetes mellitus, welche mit Diät, körperlicher Bewegung und den bisherigen oralen Therapien nur ungenügend eingestellt werden können oder diese nicht vertragen.
- Als Monotherapie, bei Patienten mit einer Unverträglichkeit oder Kontraindikation für Metformin.
- Als Zweifachkombination ausschliesslich mit Metformin oder einem Sulfonylharnstoff oder einem Thia-zolidindion, wenn mit diesen Behandlungen keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht werden kann.
- Als Dreifachkombination mit Metformin und einem Sulfonylharnstoff, wenn durch diese oralen Antidiabetika keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird.
