Die Einleitung der PROCYSBI-Therapie sollte unter der Kontrolle eines Arztes erfolgen, der über Erfahrung in der Behandlung von Cystinose verfügt.
Die Mercaptamin-Therapie muss umgehend nach Bestätigung der Diagnose einer nephropathischen Cystinose (d.h. anhand eines erhöhten leukozytären Cystingehaltes) eingeleitet werden, damit ein höchstmöglicher therapeutischer Nutzen erreicht wird.
Nach Kostengutsprache durch den Krankenversicherer bzw. durch die IV-Stelle nach vorgängiger Konsultation des RAD.
