This preparation is reimbursed only under the conditions below. The text is the binding FOPH wording; outside those conditions basic insurance does not pay.

- Als Monotherapie, für Patienten, welche mit den bisherigen oralen Therapien nur ungenügend eingestellt werden können oder diese nicht vertragen.
- Als Zweifachkombination mit
- Metformin oder
- mit einem Sulfonylharnstoff oder
- mit einem Thiazolidindion, wenn mit diesen Behandlungen keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht werden kann.
- Als Dreifachkombination mit Metformin und einem Sulfonylharnstoff, wenn mit Metformin und einem Sulfonylharnstoff (als Zweifachkombination und maximal verträglicher Dosierung) zusammen mit Diät und vermehrter körperlicher Aktivität keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird.
- In Kombination mit Insulin (mit oder ohne Metformin), wenn durch diese Massnahmen keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht werden kann.
