- Als Dreifachkombination mit einem Sulfonylharnstoff, wenn mit Metformin und Sulfonylharnstoff (als orale Zweifachkombination und in maximal verträglicher Dosierung) keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird.
- In Kombination mit Insulin, wenn mit den bisherigen oralen Therapien (in maximal verträglicher Dosierung) zusammen mit Diät und vermehrter körperlicher Aktivität keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird.
- Für Patienten, die bereits mit einer freien Kombination von Saxagliptin und Metformin behandelt werden.
