- Wenn weder mit Metformin noch mit Sitagliptin als Monotherapie eine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird, oder bei Patienten, die bereits eine Kombination von Sitagliptin und Metformin erhalten.
- Als Dreifachkombination in Kombination mit einem Sulfonylharnstoff, wenn durch eine Kombination von zwei der drei folgenden Wirkstoffe keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird: Metformin, Sitagliptin oder ein Sulfonylharnstoff.
- In Kombination mit Insulin, wenn durch diese Massnahme keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird.
