Zur Behandlung von erwachsenen Patienten mit einem Typ 2 Diabetes mellitus zur Verbesserung der glykämischen Kontrolle, wenn durch Diät und gesteigerte körperliche Aktivität keine ausreichende Kontrolle der Glykämie erreicht wird: 
- Als Monotherapie bei Patienten, die nicht mit Metformin behandelt werden können. 
- In Kombination mit:
  - Metformin 
  - einem Sulfonylharnstoff 
  - einem DPP4-Inhibitor (mit oder ohne Metformin) 
  - einem GLP-1-Analogon (mit oder ohne Metformin) 
  - Insulin, alleine oder in Kombination mit Metformin und/oder Sulfonylharnstoff.

Is Invokana covered by Swiss health insurance?

Yes, but only under conditions. Invokana is on the Specialities List with a limitation: basic insurance reimburses it only when the conditions in the limitation text are met, in some cases only after the insurer has granted cost approval.
