Zur Behandlung der aktiven rheumatoiden Arthritis, wenn die vorausgegangene antirheumatische Standardtherapie mit krankheitsmodifizierenden Antirheumatika (DMARDs) unzulänglich war.

Polyartikuläre juvenile idiopathische Arthritis:
Zur Behandlung von Patienten mit polyartikulärer juveniler idiopathischer Arthritis im Alter von 6 - 17 Jahren mit unzureichendem Ansprechen auf oder Unverträglichkeit gegenüber mindestens einem DMARD. Nach 4 Monaten sollte das therapeutische Ansprechen auf ORENCIA überprüft werden. Nur ansprechende Patienten sollten weiter behandelt werden.
