Bei erwachsenen Patienten mit hochaktiver schubförmig-remittierender Multipler Sklerose (RRMS), wenn zuvor eine vollständige und adäquate Behandlung mit mindestens zwei anderen krankheitsmodifizierenden Therapien (disease modifying treatments - DMTs) durchgeführt wurde oder bei Patienten mit hochaktiver RRMS, bei denen alle anderen DMTs kontraindiziert sind oder aus anderen Gründen nicht geeignet sind.
LEMTRADA kann aufgrund des Sicherheitsprofils nur von erfahrenen Fachärzten der Neurologie FMH als Reservemittel in den neurologischen Kliniken der Weiterbildungskategorie A und B (mit Zugang zu Intensivmedizin) eingesetzt werden.
Es können maximal 4 Behandlungszyklen LEMTRADA vergütet werden.
Die Behandlung bedarf der Kostengutsprache durch den Krankenversicherer nach vorgängiger Konsultation des Vertrauensarztes.

Is Lemtrada covered by Swiss health insurance?

Yes, but only under conditions. Lemtrada is on the Specialities List with a limitation: basic insurance reimburses it only when the conditions in the limitation text are met, in some cases only after the insurer has granted cost approval.
