Die Behandlung soll nur von Ärztinnen bzw. Ärzten, die auf Verhaltensstörungen von Kindern und Jugendlichen spezialisiert sind, begonnen werden und muss auch von ihnen überwacht werden.
Wenn Patienten über 1 Jahr hinaus behandelt werden, so hat eine erneute Überprüfung der Behandlungsnotwendigkeit durch einen Arzt zu erfolgen, der über das notwendige Fachwissen in der Behandlung der ADHS verfügt.
Vergütet wird 1 Kleinpackung pro Patient pro 7 Tage oder 1 Grosspackung pro 28 Tage. Die Takeda Pharma AG, 8152 Glattpark-Opfikon (Zürich), zahlt nach Aufforderung durch denjenigen Krankenversicherer, bei dem die versicherte Person zum Zeitpunkt des Bezugs versichert war, pro weitere Packung 100 Prozent des Fabrikabgabepreises der günstigeren Packung an den Krankenversicherer zurück. Die Mehrwertsteuer kann nicht zusätzlich zu den Rückvergütungsbeträgen zurückgefordert werden. Die Aufforderung zur Rückvergütung soll in der Regel innerhalb von 6 Monaten erfolgen.
